Details of the Job/Internship

Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring a Principal Associate – Direct Tax with 5–7 years of experience to join their Mumbai office. The role involves expanding the global footprint of the firm’s Direct Tax practice, handling domestic and international tax matters, and representing clients before tax authorities and appellate forums. The position also includes advisory and litigation work, research on complex tax issues, and delivering high-quality client service.

Role and Responsibilities

• Increase the global footprint of the Direct Tax practice.
• Maintain continuous interaction with clients and manage client expectations.
• Represent clients in assessments and tribunal appeals before CIT and ITAT.
• Handle domestic and international taxation, including transfer pricing matters.
• Advise on tax litigation and advisory assignments.
• Work on matters involving corporate laws, SEBI, and FEMA regulations.
• Research complex tax issues and analyse relevant case laws.
• Prepare opinion papers and provide comprehensive tax solutions.
• Deliver timely and high-quality work products that meet client expectations.

Eligibility

• Lawyer or CA + LLB from a reputed law school with a strong academic track record.
• 5–7 years of post-qualification experience in international tax and cross-border transactions.
• Experience in litigation, advisory work, and practice development for international markets.
