Details of the Job/Internship
Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring a Principal Associate for its Direct Tax team to join the Mumbai office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Contribute to expanding the global footprint of the firm’s Direct Tax practice.
- Maintain continuous client interaction, manage expectations, and ensure high-quality client service.
- Represent the firm in assessments and tribunal appeals before the CIT and ITAT.
- Handle domestic and international tax matters, including transfer pricing.
- Provide litigation and advisory support across direct tax matters.
- Advise on corporate laws and regulatory frameworks including SEBI and FEMA.
- Research complex tax issues and apply relevant legal positions to client matters.
- Prepare detailed opinion papers and reviews of tax case laws.
- Deliver timely, high-quality work products exceeding client expectations.
Eligibility
- Lawyer or CA with an LL.B. from a recognised law school and a strong academic background.
- 5–7 years of post-qualification experience in direct tax, international tax, and cross-border transactions.
- Experience in litigation, advisory, and practice development with international exposure.
- Strong managerial, organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced professional services environment.
