Details of the Job/Internship
They are seeking an experienced and skilled Principal associate with legal practice to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil, dispute resolution and commercial law, with a strong understanding of the legal landscape in Karnataka. You will be responsible for representing clients in legal proceedings and drafting legal documents while adhering to ethical and professional standards.
Role and Responsibilities
- Represent clients in courts, tribunals and other legal forums.
- Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, petitions, statement of objection and affidavit.
- Conduct legal research and provide well-reasoned legal advice on various matters.
- Liaise with clients, manage case files, and ensure timely and accurate communication.
- Negotiate settlements and facilitate dispute resolution processes.
- Prepare and review legal strategies, ensuring compliance with state and national laws.
- Assist in compliance matters and regulatory requirements for clients in various sectors.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding changes in law and legal precedents in Karnataka and at the national level.
- Represent clients in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms such as arbitration and mediation.
Eligibility
- LLB (Bachelor of Laws) from a recognized university, with a valid enrolment to practice law.
- 7-10 years of post-qualification experience in legal practice, with demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of law (civil, commercial land laws, etc.).
- Strong research, analytical, and drafting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases effectively.
- Ability to speak and read Kannada would be an advantage.
- Proficiency with legal software tools and case management systems.
- Strong negotiation skills and client-facing experience.
- Ethical, professional, and diligent work attitude.
