Details of the Job/Internship
IndiaLaw LLP is hiring a Principal Associate – IBC & Banking Litigation with 7–10+ years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Handle litigation and advisory matters relating to insolvency, banking disputes, and debt recovery.
- Manage and execute matters under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, including corporate insolvency resolution, liquidation, and creditor actions.
- Draft petitions, applications, replies, rejoinders, written submissions, legal notices, and other pleadings.
- Represent and assist in proceedings before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT), and the Bombay High Court.
- Coordinate with senior counsel and argue procedural and substantive matters where required.
- Manage relationships with clients including banks, financial institutions, insolvency professionals, and corporates.
- Provide legal opinions and strategic advice on insolvency and recovery matters.
- Conduct legal research and prepare strategy notes for complex cases.
- Manage end-to-end case execution including filings, appearances, and compliance with procedural timelines.
- Coordinate with court clerks, counsels, and internal teams for effective case management.
- Supervise and mentor junior associates and interns and ensure quality control in drafting and filings.
- Assist partners in managing complex litigation portfolios.
Eligibility
- LL.B. / LL.M. from a recognized university.
- Enrolled with the Bar Council of India.
- Principal Associate: 7–10+ years of experience with strong exposure to IBC matters.
- Experience appearing before NCLT, DRT, and High Courts.
- Ability to independently manage and execute litigation matters.
- Strong drafting and litigation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of insolvency and banking laws.
- Excellent research, analytical, and client management skills.
Salary/Stipend
