MacDonald is hiring a Principal Contract Specialist to join their Bengaluru office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a diverse range of commercial contracts, including consultancy agreements, framework agreements, memoranda of understanding (MoUs), and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
- Perform commercial contract reviews to identify deviations from internal governance standards (training will be provided), and support project teams in obtaining required internal approvals.
- Develop and maintain internal commercial guidance, sharing updates on key regulatory developments and recurring contractual themes across jurisdictions.
- Support Divisional Commercial Managers and the broader unit by contributing to commercial risk management efforts on projects.
- Collaborate with Legal and Commercial functions to manage and resolve contractual claims.
- Liaise with internal departments—including Legal, Ethics & Compliance, Data Protection, and Insurance—to ensure alignment with Mott MacDonald's governance frameworks.
Eligibility
- LL.B. degree or equivalent legal qualification.
- Strong understanding of UK infrastructure contract law, with familiarity in the use of standardized contracts such as the NEC (New Engineering Contract).
- Solid grasp of legal principles and commercial law with the ability to apply them in a practical business context.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
- Effective communicator, confident in engaging with stakeholders across levels and disciplines.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
Salary/Stipend
