Details of the Job/Internship

AQUILAW is hiring a Principal Associate – Corporate & M&A Team with 7–8 years of experience to join their offices in Kolkata, Mumbai, or Delhi. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage domestic and cross-border corporate transactions.
• Draft and negotiate agreements including SPAs, JVAs, and commercial contracts.
• Advise on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory issues.
• Execute mandates with minimal partner supervision.
• Prepare and vet general corporate agreements such as NDAs, MSAs, service and license agreements.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, and internal teams to ensure efficient execution.
• Represent the firm at forums and engage in business development.
• Stay updated on legal developments and industry trends.
• Mentor associates and ensure high-quality legal deliverables.
• Maintain strict adherence to timelines and firm policies.

Eligibility

• LLB or LLM from a premier Indian or foreign law school.
• 7–8 years of experience in M&A, PE/VC, and corporate law with a top-tier law firm.
• Proven ability to independently handle transactions and advise clients.
• Strong leadership, drafting, communication, and client management skills.
• High attention to detail and sound legal judgment.
• Familiarity with complex legal frameworks in corporate and M&A matters.
