Details of the Job/Internship
Emeritus Group, is hiring a Senior Associate – Privacy Legal & Compliance. The role involves overseeing data privacy, compliance, internal audits, and operational privacy management for campuses across India.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement campus-wide privacy compliance strategies.
- Conduct regular privacy audits and track remediation measures.
- Coordinate with operational teams on compliant handling of personal data.
- Draft, review, and update privacy policies, procedures, and notices.
- Review and negotiate contracts, including Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
- Conduct privacy impact assessments.
- Deliver privacy awareness training for employees and faculty.
- Respond to data subject requests and privacy complaints.
- Monitor regulatory updates and advise on operational changes.
- Support incident management, data breach responses, and communication with authorities.
- Advise on global regulatory developments and best practices.
Eligibility
- LL.B. from a recognized university.
- Minimum 4 years of privacy or compliance experience, preferably in education or campus operations.
- Familiarity with Indian data privacy laws and global frameworks.
- CIPP/CIPM certification or equivalent preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and operate in diverse, international teams.
