Details of the Job/Internship
Emeritus is hiring a Privacy Manager (Global), as part of its Global Data Protection office to support the continued growth of Emeritus' global privacy operations. The candidate will report to the Global Data Protection Officer, who reports to Emeritus' General Counsel. This role will involve exposure to Emeritus' cross-functional teams, clients, and vendors.
Role and Responsibilities
- Providing legal and strategic advice on global privacy issues across the organization.
- Managing key stakeholders to ensure alignment with the Global Data Protection office's objectives and requirements.
- Monitoring developments in global regulations, legislature, and privacy best practices, and advising on the need and rationale for changes required within the organization.
- Driving privacy awareness and accountability within Emeritus toward greater business transparency, and reinforcing trust from customers, business partners and clients.
- Proactively identifying, evaluating, and managing privacy risks to ensure sustainable business growth.
- Reviewing and negotiating customer and vendor contracts and responding to privacy questionnaires and audits.
- Implementing and maintaining Emeritus' privacy policies, procedures, notices, and guidelines.
- Designing and delivering comprehensive data privacy training programs on global privacy regimes, and their impact on Emeritus.
- Supporting growth of new business opportunities by analyzing privacy implications of new products, services, and processes and providing guidance on minimizing privacy risk.
- Conducting privacy impact and risk assessments.
- Liaise with data protection authorities on matters related to registrations and notifications, complaints from data subjects, and management of data protection breaches.
Eligibility
- 7+ years of experience in the privacy domain, including regulatory and legal compliance (in particular, the European privacy laws), as well as privacy management.
- Law degree from a recognized university.
- CIPP/CIPM certification (or equivalent) preferred.
- In-house experience with a global company preferred.
