The Indian Maritime sector has been consistently exhibiting strong growth and is slated to be the maritime market of the future. The establishment of Gujarat Maritime University (GMU) is an endeavour by the Government of Gujarat through the Gujarat Maritime Board to provide a fillip to this growth by bridging the knowledge gap within the industry.

Details of the Job/Internship

Gujarat Maritime University (GMU) is inviting applications for the position of Professor of Law with 10 years of experience to join them at their campus in Gandhinagar.

Eligibility

• An eminent scholar having a Ph. D. degree in the concerned/ allied/ relevant discipline viz. International Trade Law or Maritime Law is highly desirable and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with, a minimum of 10 research publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 120 as per the criteria given in Appendix-II, Table-2 as mentioned in the UGC Regulations, 2018.
• A Master’s degree in Law with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/ relevant/ viz. International Law is mandatory. A specialization in Maritime Law or International Trade Law, either as a principal subject or allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university, is highly desirable.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of teaching experience in a University/ College as Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor/ Professor, and/ or research experience at an equivalent level at the University/ National Level Institutions, with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidates.

OR

• An outstanding professional, having a PhD degree in the relevant/ allied/ applied disciplines, viz. International Trade Law or Maritime Law, either as a principal subject or allied subject, from any academic institution (not included in A above)/ industry, who has made a significant contribution to the knowledge in the concerned/ allied/ relevant discipline, supported by documentary evidence, provided he/ she has ten (10) years of experience.
