Details of the Job/Internship
The Naz Foundation (India) Trust is hiring a Program Associate-Legal with experience of 2 to 3 years to join their office in Delhi.

Role and Responsibilities
Legal Literacy & Training:
- Conduct legal literacy trainings to equip LGBTQIA+ individuals and allied communities with knowledge about their rights and legal protections.
Case Management & Legal Support:
- Advise and coordinate with referral networks for legal aid, legal representation, and social support.
- Observe and support court proceedings, hearings, and settlements (in-person and online).
- Maintain and organize case files, legal documents, and client correspondence for efficient case tracking and reporting.
Research & Advocacy:
- Research queer rights, HIV-related legal issues, and sex worker rights to inform advocacy efforts.
- Prepare the annual report on the impact and progress of the Legal Program.
Community Engagement & Outreach:
- Lead legal awareness campaigns and social welfare drives for the transgender community and other vulnerable groups.
- Organize workshops and events focusing on legal rights, policy reforms, and access to justice.
Eligibility
- Lived experience as an LGBTQIA+ individual (whether out or closeted)
- Mandatory experience (preferably 2-3 years) in the development sector, particularly in legal aid, human rights, or social justice.
- Previous legal work experience is required (formal legal training or experience in legal advocacy, casework, or paralegal support is preferred).
- A degree in law is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong legal research and documentation skills to manage case files and prepare reports.
- Fluency in English and Hindi (additional regional languages are a plus).
- Women candidates are preferred for this role.
- Passion for LGBTQIA+ rights, legal advocacy, and social justice.
Salary/Stipend
