Details of the Job/Internship
Voluntary Action Network India (VANI) is looking for a candidate for the position of Program Officer to join them at their office in Dwarka, New Delhi.
Role and Responsibilities
- Be updated and collect relevant information regarding policies, laws, rules, notifications concerning the voluntary sector.
- Work on accountability, transparency and standardisation of reporting indicators for VOs.
- Conduct Primary and Secondary Research on implications of policy for consultations, debate generation, position papers and briefs.
- Analyse the information gathered to develop policy papers to enable informed decision making, advocacy, campaign and capacity building
- Ensure budgets and timelines with respect to research projects / programmes.
- Proactively receive information from programmes, members and external sources for content development.
- Work in line with VANIs mandate; participate in meetings, workshops, and programmes.
- Develop effective project and intervention reports.

- The successful candidate for this position will be an engaged individual, who enjoys multi-tasking and has the ability to take on the challenge of working within a growing team. You will be extremely work-focused with social sector-specific analytical thinking, research inclination, and extremely good written and oral communication skills and have the willingness to travel extensively as and when required. Requiring least supervision, you will also have the ability to engage with and inspire individuals of differing seniority and from a variety of sectors.
- M. Phil/ Masters in Social Sciences, who have relevant experience. Additionally, you should have good interpersonal skills and be ready to work in a multi-cultural environment. Knowledge of computers and the internet is required with hands-on MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
