Details of the Job/Internship
Google is hiring a Regional Counsel, Legal with experience of 3 to 7 years to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and lead to closure a variety of commercial agreements including bespoke agreements for novels, pilot products, or projects, covering a wide range of activities.
- Conduct legal reviews of Google’s product, marketing and business initiatives and work in consultation with Google’s government affairs representatives to provide solution-oriented practical advice to facilitate launches and innovation.
- Advise executive management and cross-functional project teams in Asia Pacific and the USA about various contractual covenants and potential legal risks. Ensure compliance with applicable laws across all aspects of Google’s operations in India.
- Respond to a wide range of legal requests from Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Tax, Finance and other functional groups.
- Work with external legal counsel on specific matters on expert advice requests.
Eligibility
- JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
- 3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
- 7 years of experience with a law firm and as an in-house counsel in India or overseas.
- Experience with internet technologies and related policy-regulatory environments.
- Ability to manage multi-stakeholder cross-functional teams on legal or non-legal related projects, with demonstrated client management skills.
- Ability to be proactive, collaborative, and diligent, with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible and willing to work on a broad range of matters from routine/standard ones.
