Details of the Job/Internship

Caldic is seeking a Regional Legal Counsel with 5–8 years of experience to join their Mumbai office, reporting directly to the Legal & Compliance Director APAC.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of commercial agreements, including high-stakes distribution, agency, and procurement contracts.
• Provide practical advice on contract interpretation and risk allocation in alignment with global internal standards.
• Act as the regional point of contact for compliance queries, identifying and assessing potential issues or investigations.
• Lead the regional implementation of global compliance frameworks, including Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC), Trade Compliance, and Data Privacy.
• Support APAC-specific strategic projects such as asset integration and legal entity restructuring.
• Drive digitization and standardization of legal workflows to enhance department efficiency.
• Conduct regional compliance training and awareness initiatives to foster a culture of integrity.
• Collaborate with global colleagues across the Caldic network to ensure cross-regional alignment.

Eligibility

• Qualified Lawyer (LLB/LLM) with a minimum of 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Industry Preference: Prior experience in the manufacturing or distribution industry is highly desirable.
• Experience in a reputable multinational corporation (MNC) or a top-tier law firm is a significant plus.
• In-depth knowledge of Indian and APAC-specific compliance regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Excellent command of the English language with superior communication and interpersonal skills.
