IDFC FIRST Bank is hiring for the position of Regional Legal Debt Manager with 10+ years of experience to join their office in Delhi.

Role and Responsibilities

• Primary Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement legal recovery strategies to minimize delinquency and financial losses.
• Ensure compliance with all state and central legal and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the Corporate Legal team in handling litigation and representing the bank in legal proceedings.
• Co-own and deliver collection targets in coordination with the Collections leadership.
• Manage the Legal Processing Office (LPO), overseeing backend operations and SOPs for legal activities.
• Lead end-to-end management of SARFAESI Act processes and all retail legal recoveries.
• Address customer escalations during legal proceedings and crisis situations.
• Support empanelment and oversight of external legal vendors and technical agencies.
• Obtain necessary court orders and legal clearances to support operational efficiency.
• Act as the custodian for all retail legal matters and ensure alignment with compliance frameworks.
• Work closely with the Head of Collections to improve credit loss ratios and delinquency metrics.
• Secondary Responsibilities:
• Drive the use of analytics and legal market intelligence to strengthen collections and operational effectiveness.
• Recommend and support policy/process enhancements across retail collections to improve customer outcomes.
• Stay updated on industry legal trends, emerging risks, and competitor legal strategies.
• Promote internal collaboration across collections, credit, and branch teams to maximize recovery outcomes.
• Implement cost optimization strategies while enhancing legal effectiveness and process integrity.

Eligibility

• Education:
• Graduate (any discipline)
• MBA in Finance (Preferred)
• LLB/LLM (Mandatory)
• Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of experience in legal collections and debt recovery
• Proven expertise in handling SARFAESI, civil recovery, litigation, and legal strategy
