Details of the Job/Internship

Criss Financial Limited is hiring a Regional Legal Manager with experience of 7–12 years to join their office in Vijayawada. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Analyze and initiate appropriate legal proceedings against delinquent customers using various recovery tools.
• Execute end-to-end recovery actions, including the issuance of Demand Notices and proceedings under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.
• Manage proceedings under Section 25 of the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007 for digital payment defaults.
• Oversee SARFAESI proceedings on a need-based basis to recover dues through the attachment of assets.
• Engage and coordinate with external legal counsel for the filing and disposal of litigation matters.
• Review and draft responses to legal and statutory notices served on the company by coordinating with internal stakeholders.
• Provide strategic legal inputs to the collections and risk teams to optimize recovery outcomes.
• Maintain comprehensive records of ongoing litigation and ensure timely updates to the head office.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB / LLM) from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 7–12 years of post-qualification experience.
• Significant experience in an in-house legal function within a Bank or NBFC is mandatory.
• In-depth understanding of the Negotiable Instruments Act, Payment and Settlement Systems Act, and SARFAESI Act.
• Proven track record in handling litigation and coordinating with external advocates.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage complex regional legal portfolios.
