Details of the Job/Internship

Home Credit India is hiring a Regional Legal Manager – Loan Against Property (LAP) with 7–8 years of legal experience, including at least 2 years in team management, to join their office in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Role and Responsibilities

• Create and update legal due diligence checklists covering title verification, encumbrance status, mutation, registration, and local regulation compliance.
• Review and approve title opinion reports, mortgage deeds, sanction letters, and ensure legal completeness before disbursal.
• Empanel law firms, search agencies, and advocates nationally, with SLAs, quality KPIs, and regional benchmarks.
• Conduct vendor audits, performance reviews, and ensure TAT and compliance adherence.
• Develop and institutionalise SOPs and legal policy manuals, adapting them to state-level requirements.
• Stay updated on laws related to property, mortgage, SARFAESI, IBC, and register necessary updates.
• Support recovery actions including SARFAESI applications, foreclosure, litigation, and arbitration.
• Act as legal advisor to Credit, Operations, Collections, Risk, and Sales teams; conduct internal workshops on legal documentation practices.
• Build dashboards to track due diligence cases, vendor performance, TAT, title exceptions, and risks.
• Lead legal audits and report findings to senior management.

Eligibility

• LLB / LLM from a recognised university; advanced degrees preferred.
• 7–8 years of legal experience in NBFC/Bank mortgage lending, with at least 2 years in team management.
• Strong knowledge of Indian property laws, SARFAESI, IBC, RERA, Land Registration, Stamp laws, and local municipal laws.
• Experience in secured lending documentation, title/legal due diligence, and recovery regulations.
• Drafting and reviewing mortgage deeds, loan agreements, SARFAESI notices, and title opinion letters.
• Proficiency in LOS/DMS systems for documentation tracking.
• Vendor negotiation and SLA governance skills.
• Experience with Rajasthan market preferred, especially in tier-2/3 cities.
