Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Limited is hiring for the position of Regional Manager – Legal to join their office in Noida.
Role and Responsibilities
Legal Risk & Compliance
- Develop a framework for legal risk identification and assessment in coordination with Regional Risk, Audit, and Compliance teams.
- Address and rectify audit observations/queries in line with applicable laws and guidelines.
- Monitor changes in state laws/regulations (especially the State Stamp Act) and advise on business impact.
Legal Advisory & Documentation
- Provide legal advice for contract drafting, review, and negotiations (with focus on Admin & Operations).
- Advise on state-specific Acts including Shops & Establishments Act, Municipal Act, Stamp Act, Minimum Wages Act, and other banking-related laws.
- Assist in legal compliance during product rollouts in coordination with Product & Marketing teams.
Litigation & Dispute Resolution
- Represent the Bank before courts, tribunals, and other forums to ensure speedy disposal of cases.
- Draft/vet plaints, written statements, replies, and objections.
- Support MSE and Housing verticals on legal issues related to mortgages, hypothecation, pledges, and credit documentation.
- Assist Vigilance Department in filing FIRs, complaints, and handling fraud-related matters.
Governance & Reporting
- Maintain MIS/database of ongoing proceedings and follow up for closure.
- Conduct Legal Audits of Advance Accounts as per Board/RBI guidelines.
- Escalate legal risks and recommend corrective actions when needed.
Eligibility
- LLB (3-year or 5-year) from a recognized university.
- 6–15 years of post-qualification experience in litigation and corporate legal matters.
In-depth understanding of:
- Banking and Commercial Laws.
- Loan/Credit Documentation.
- Corporate/Commercial Contracts.
- Property Laws.
- Shops & Establishments Act, Minimum Wages Act.
- (Preferred) Working knowledge of labour enactments.
- Proven experience in drafting and vetting legal documents and commercial contracts.
- Strong advocacy skills and the ability to conduct cases before courts of law.
