Details of the Job/Internship
Google is hiring a Regulatory Counsel specializing in Privacy to support its Regulatory Affairs division in either Gurugram or Singapore.
Role and Responsibilities
- Interpret international laws and compliance obligations into specific requirements for Compliance, Business, Product, and Engineering teams.
- Provide expert legal advice on compliance programs and policies to minimize and avoid regulatory risk.
- Manage high-level discussions, negotiations, and disclosures with government bodies and regulators regarding compliance readiness.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure products comply with laws, regulations, and external commitments.
- Engage directly with global data protection, consumer protection, and antitrust authorities
Eligibility
- JD, LL.B., or an equivalent degree.
- Admission to the bar and in good standing to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in legal, regulatory, and corporate compliance.
- At least 7 years of attorney-level experience in-house, at a law firm, or in government.
- Proven experience engaging with major regulators such as the FTC, DOJ, or State Attorneys General.
