Details of the Job/Internship

Surana & Surana is hiring an IP professional with 3–5 years of experience to join their Patents & Designs team. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Prior Art Searches and detailed patentability assessments.
• Draft and file Patent and Design applications for both domestic and international jurisdictions.
• Handle First Examination Reports (FERs) and Office Actions, preparing strategic responses to overcome objections.
• Represent clients in formal hearings before the Patent Office and relevant authorities.
• Manage and maintain regional and global Intellectual Property portfolios for diverse clients.
• Contribute to knowledge development initiatives, including writing articles and making public presentations on IP law trends.
• Coordinate with technical teams to ensure accurate translation of innovations into legal filings.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or a relevant technical field (Engineering/Science).
• 3–5 years of experience specifically in Patent Preparation and managing Patent Applications.
• In-depth knowledge of Indian and International Patent Law.
• Strong analytical, research, and drafting skills with a proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Advanced qualifications in Intellectual Property (e.g., Post Graduate Diploma in IPR) are a plus.
• Proficiency in IP litigation or prosecution is a significant advantage.
• Strong interpersonal skills for client relationship management.
