Details of the Job/Internship
IndiaLaw LLP is hiring for the position of Senior Associate - Criminal Litigation with 5 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Represent clients in criminal cases before trial courts, sessions courts, and relevant tribunals.
- Handle end-to-end management of cases under Section 138 of the NI Act.
- Draft, review, and vet legal documents including complaints, affidavits, replies, and other pleadings.
- Develop case strategy through legal research and analysis of evidence in white-collar crime matters.
- Liaise effectively with clients, law enforcement agencies, and regulatory authorities.
- Attend hearings, manage trial proceedings, and provide strategic legal counsel.
- Mentor junior associates and contribute to team development.
Eligibility
- Education: LL.B. from a recognized university; registered with the Bar Council of India.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of dedicated criminal litigation experience.
- Proven expertise in white-collar crime and cheque bounce matters (Section 138, NI Act).
- Strong drafting, research, and oral advocacy skills.
- Well-versed in criminal procedure and courtroom practice in Magistrate and Sessions Courts.
- Capable of handling complex cases independently with sound legal judgment.
- Excellent client communication and relationship management abilities.
