Details of the Job/Internship

Nasdaq is looking for a candidate for the position of Senior Associate General Counsel.

Role and Responsibilities

• Under the guidance and supervision of senior legal team members, a typical day will include.
• Draft, review, analyze, and negotiate a variety of commercial and licensing agreements, including data, content, indexes, and technology transactional agreements.
• Work closely with sales, operations, and product teams to ensure Company objectives are met.
• Provide legal guidance and support to our internal businesses and operations around the world including licensing, technology, and commercial legal advice.
• Keep up to date and provide guidance on regulations that impact Nasdaq products and services.
• Representing (without close supervision from senior lawyers) the company’s positions in commercial matters. 

Eligibility

• At least 13+ years’ experience, preferably at a top law firm and/or in-house.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of other disciplines across multiple regions.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects and clients.
• Law Degree (e.g., in the U.S., the Juris Doctor degree).
• Understanding of the legal and business aspects of licensing data, including regulated data, alternative data, indexes, financial information, software, and/or technology products and services.
• Experience drafting and negotiating contracts for complex commercial transactions.
• The ability to analyze complex contracts and effectively communicate with internal clients.
• Knowledge of intellectual property and data privacy/data security.
