Tesco is hiring a Senior Associate-Legal Counsel Property to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Negotiating; drafting and reviewing a broad range of non-contentious UK property contracts (from the UK legal perspective) including Leases; Tenancy at Will; License to Assign; License for Alterations; License to Occupy; Rent Deposit Deed; Deed of Variation; Deed of surrender; Non-disclosure Agreement.
- Title due diligence and reporting.
- Coordination with relevant stakeholders within the Tesco Property and Legal teams to ensure that real estate matters are delivered in a timely and appropriately risk-balanced manner; meeting the business need.
- Working collaboratively with their external law firms to share knowledge and best practices; and ensure the efficient delivery of real estate legal services to the business.
- Managing and updating Tesco templates and playbooks. - Downloading Land Registry documents and making Land Registry applications.
- Ensuring compliance with Tesco Business Code of Conduct; their Governance framework and other policies as applicable from time to time.
- Represent Talent Acquisition in all forums/ seminars pertaining to process; compliance and audit.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as required by management.
- Driving CI culture; implementing CI projects and innovation within the team.
Eligibility
- LLB with experience in international contract drafting; negotiation and review.
- Extensive knowledge of contract law (UK Property Law preferred, but not essential), including strong experience in drafting a variety of complex commercial contracts.
- Ability to review and negotiate contracts and provide pragmatic and commercial advice.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously, cross-functionally and to tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships. with internal and external stakeholders. - Ability to identify and appropriately mitigate commercial contractual risk.
