Details of the Job/Internship

Tesco Bengaluru is hiring a Senior Associate – Legal Counsel with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience to support the Group Legal and UK Property teams on UK-related non-contentious real estate work. The role includes negotiating, drafting and reviewing UK property contracts and ensuring efficient coordination with internal teams and external legal partners.

Role and Responsibilities

• Negotiate, draft and review a wide range of non-contentious UK property contracts such as leases, tenancy at will, licences, rent deposit deeds, deeds of variation and non-disclosure agreements.
• Conduct title due diligence and prepare related reports.
• Coordinate with the Tesco Property and Legal teams to ensure timely and risk-balanced delivery of real estate matters.
• Collaborate with external law firms to share best practices and support efficient delivery of legal services.
• Manage and update Tesco templates and playbooks.
• Download Land Registry documents and make necessary Land Registry applications.
• Ensure compliance with Tesco’s Business Code of Conduct, governance framework and other policies.
• Represent Talent Acquisition in forums and seminars related to process, compliance and audit.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as required by management.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, implement CI projects and encourage innovation within the team.

Eligibility

• Qualified commercial contracts or real estate lawyer with a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience.
• Experience working in an international environment, preferably involving UK matters.
• Proficiency in UK property-related documentation and understanding of UK laws preferred.

Salary/Stipend
