Details of the Job/Internship
India Law Offices is hiring a Senior Associate – Litigation & Corporate Law with experience of 5+ years to join their office in New Delhi.
Role and Responsibilities
Litigation:
- Represent clients before district courts, High Court, tribunals, commissions, and other authorities.
- Draft and vet petitions, pleadings, writs, affidavits, appeals, applications, complaints, and notices.
- Liaise with statutory, regulatory, or quasi-judicial authorities.
- Conduct legal research and draft legal briefs and motions.
- Communicate with clients regarding case status and developments.
- Handle filing procedures, inquiries, and execution proceedings.
Corporate & Commercial Law:
- Draft and negotiate transaction documents including term sheets, share purchase agreements, shareholders agreements, business transfer agreements, asset purchase agreements, and joint venture agreements.
- Advise clients on non-tax laws including contract law, Companies Act, FEMA, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Provide M&A and transaction advisory services including mergers, demergers, slump sales, business succession, and related transactions.
- Handle corporate and regulatory compliance for Indian entities.
- Liaise with government departments to ensure legal compliance.
- Handle other related assignments as required.
Eligibility
- A graduate or postgraduate in Law from a premier institution such as NLU, Symbiosis Law School, Jindal Global Law School, GLC (Mumbai), or Campus Law Centre (Delhi).
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience as a practicing advocate.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- High standard of written and spoken English.
