Role and Responsibilities
- Assisting the Partner and seniors in providing strategic legal counsel to clients.
- Experience in representing clients in construction and infrastructure arbitration proceedings (Domestic & International).
- Overseeing the management of arbitration cases from initiation to resolution, managing the team, and ensuring that all proceedings are conducted as per internal and external timelines.
- Managing relationships with clients and maintaining a regular flow of communication with periodic updates to the clients.
- Conducting legal research and guiding the team on arbitration laws, precedents, and industry trends. Possessing and further developing in-depth knowledge of construction contracts and their arbitration clauses.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents and agreements related to arbitration, including arbitration clauses, settlement agreements, and procedural motions.
- Staying abreast of developments in arbitration laws and best practices, participating in industry conferences and seminars, and actively contributing to thought leadership initiatives through publications, presentations, and speaking engagements.
Eligibility
- Strong academic background with a degree in Law from a reputable institution.
- 7+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) with substantial period of experience in arbitration laws, with a demonstrated focus on the construction industry and a strong track record of success in representing clients in arbitration proceedings.
- Proficient in commercial litigation, including civil matters before the High Court, and Supreme Court.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts and arguments.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a client-centric approach to legal representation and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
- Proven leadership and management abilities, with experience in mentoring and developing junior team members and leading by example.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
