Details of the Job/Internship

AMS Legal is hiring a Senior Associate with 3–5 years of experience to join their office in Chennai. The role involves handling white-collar crime matters, appearing before the High Court and Trial Courts, drafting petitions and writs, and assisting in strategic legal planning for complex regulatory and criminal litigation.

Role and Responsibilities

• Handle white-collar crime matters involving agencies such as EOW, SFIO, CBI, ED, SEBI and ROC.
• Draft criminal petitions, bail applications, quash petitions and writ petitions under Article 226.
• Appear before the High Court and Subordinate Courts independently or with senior counsel.
• Conduct legal research and prepare opinions, strategies and internal briefs.
• Work on matters under PMLA, Companies Act, TNPID Act, IPC, CrPC and other regulatory statutes.
• Coordinate with clients, investigators and external counsel and manage procedural compliance.
• Support junior team members and contribute to team collaboration.

Eligibility

• LL.B. from a recognised law school or university; LL.M. preferred but optional.
• 3–5 years of focused experience in criminal litigation and writ matters.
• Strong knowledge of CrPC, IPC, PMLA, TNPID and Articles 226/227 of the Constitution.
• Proven drafting skills with clarity and precision.
• Courtroom experience before the High Court or Sessions Court.
• Strong legal research skills and familiarity with legal databases.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
