Details of the Job/Internship
Areness is hiring a Senior Associate for its New Delhi office. The role is for a practising advocate with dedicated experience in litigation and dispute resolution across diverse matters, including Banking and Finance, Corporate Litigation, Contracts Management, IBC, IPR, Civil and Commercial Litigation, Property, Consumer, Personal, and Constitutional Laws. The position involves independently handling matters from client counselling to research, drafting, and court appearances.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft pleadings, deeds, applications, and other legal documents.
- Devise litigation strategies and appear for arguments and cross-examinations.
- Conduct legal research and provide advisory services.
- Counsel clients and ensure efficient case handling.
- Manage and guide a team of Senior Associates, Associates, Paralegals, and Interns.
- Engage and brief Senior Advocates.
- Work with management in practice development and team building.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and other practice area teams.
- Maintain MIS records and oversee financial documentation.
- Handle matters from plaintiff, defendant, respondent, and intervener perspectives.
Eligibility
- Extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation.
- Strong understanding of litigation and dispute resolution processes.
- Ability to handle matters involving individuals, companies, partnership firms, LLPs, trusts, societies, and government bodies.
- Working knowledge of major acts including CPC, CrPC, Evidence Act, Negotiable Instruments Act, Transfer of Property Act, Specific Relief Act, Arbitration and Conciliation Act, Consumer Protection Act, and other relevant laws.
- Excellent drafting, argumentation, and advisory skills.
- Leadership ability with a visionary and entrepreneurial outlook.
- Prior experience managing teams of associates, paralegals, and interns.
- Suitable only for practising advocates; not for in-house counsels or corporate-only professionals.
