Details of the Job/Internship
Hammurabi & Solomon Partners is hiring a Senior Associate – Litigation with 4-5 years of PQE to join their office in Bengaluru. The role involves handling litigation cases, drafting, appearing before courts, managing client relationships, and mentoring junior associates.
Role and Responsibilities
- Handle and oversee litigation cases, including civil, commercial, criminal, corporate, TMT & startup, and intellectual property matters.
- Develop litigation strategies, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Conduct detailed legal research and ensure compliance with court deadlines.
- Appear before courts, tribunals, and regulatory authorities to represent clients.
- Conduct cross-examinations, argue motions, and present oral arguments.
- Negotiate settlements and explore alternative dispute resolution methods.
- Provide strategic legal advice and maintain client communication.
- Draft legal opinions, contracts, and ensure compliance.
- Supervise and mentor junior associates and interns.
- Review and approve documents prepared by junior team members.
- Conduct internal training on litigation practices and updates.
- Assist in business development, networking, and client acquisition strategies.
- Represent the firm at legal events and professional associations.
Eligibility
- LL.B. from a recognized institution; LL.M. is preferred.
- 4-5 years of litigation experience in a reputed law firm/chamber.
- Strong knowledge of civil, criminal, IPR, procedural laws, ADR, and corporate-commercial litigation.
- Excellent courtroom advocacy, legal drafting, and negotiation skills.
- Strong client management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to analyse complex legal issues and provide accurate solutions.
- Proficiency in Kannada and English (reading, writing, speaking); additional languages are a plus.
- Familiarity with legal research tools (Manupatra, SCC Online) and case management software.
