Details of the Job/Internship
Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan attorneys is hiring a Senior Associate/Principal Associate – Corporate M&A with experience of 4–8 years to join their office in Mumbai. The role involves handling corporate and M&A transactions, advisory work, and managing assignments independently while working closely with clients and internal teams.
Role and Responsibilities
- Handle transactional work including M&A, private equity investments, venture capital funding, joint ventures, and strategic corporate transactions.
- Provide advisory on corporate laws, regulatory frameworks, and compliance matters.
- Manage assignments independently from initiation to completion, including negotiations.
- Deliver work products within specified timelines.
- Interact with clients and provide legal guidance.
- Train and mentor junior associates.
- Conduct legal research and contribute to knowledge management and publications.
- Contribute to business development and align with business plans.
Eligibility
- Five-year law degree from a reputed university with a good academic record.
- LLM/CA/CS is an added advantage.
- 4–8 years of experience in corporate practice at a well-reputed law firm.
- Experience in M&A, private equity investments, venture capital funding, joint ventures, and corporate commercial transactions.
- Experience in advisory on corporate laws, regulatory or sectoral laws, and compliance.
- Strong understanding of laws including the Indian Contracts Act, 1872, Companies Act, 2013, Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999, Competition Act, 2002, SEBI laws, RBI regulations, Industrial and Labour Laws, Data Protection Laws, and Legal Metrology Act, 2010.
- Ability to manage assignments independently, including negotiations.
- Up-to-date knowledge of legal developments and jurisprudence.
- Ability to deliver work within timelines, including under tight deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact confidently with clients.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Ability to train and mentor junior associates.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in using technology and computer systems.
- High level of integrity and commitment to work ethics.
