Details of the Job/Internship
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) invites applications for the position of Senior Consultant (Education).
Role and Responsibilities
- To examine and review the safeguards provided under Right to Education (RTE) and New Education Policy (NEP) child laws for the protection of child rights and suggest measures for their effective implementation.
- To examine all factors that inhibit the enjoyment of rights of children in conflict with law, children in need and care protection, and children without parental care.
- To review the existing policies, laws, programme and practices in relation to their compliance with the treaties/international instruments relating to child education.
- To prepare time bound action plan/work plan and facilitate inspection of Juvenile homes/children homes through SCPCRs, other agencies and experts as the case may be.
- To set measurable/quantifiable targets for self as well as for all staff working under him/her and ensure timely achievement.
- To prepare research proposals concerning child education under the guidance of Member concerned.
- To prepare periodic/annual report on the subject as required under CPCR.
- To deal with all complaints/suo-motu cases of violation of child rights.
- To assist the Expert/Working Group/Committee that may be constituted by NCPCR on the issues relating to child education, including its meetings, minutes and correspondence.
- To deal with all issues relating to child education in the Commission.
- To handle all matters relating to the right to education of children in Juvenile Homes.
- Any other work that may be assigned to him/her by the Supervising/Reporting Member/Officer.
Eligibility
Essential:
- Minimum 07 years of field working experience in Child Education in project formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation in the education sector.
- At least 3 years field experience in child education related issues.
- Proven experience in examining cases, reports and preparation of briefs, etc.
- Experience in handling cases concerning child education.
- Experience in child rights, child protection, child welfare, child development and related issues.
- Fluency in reading and writing English, Hindi and regional languages.
- Expertise in preparing Study Reports, Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.
Desirable:
- Research experience in the child education sector.
- Sound knowledge and familiarity with legislation, rules and case laws relating to child education.
- Experience of working with communities on child protection and related issues.
Salary/Stipend
1,10,000 (Consolidated) (No other allowances of any kind will be payable in addition to this remuneration)
