Details of the Job/Internship

Avaya is hiring a Corporate Counsel with 7+ years of experience to join its International Legal Team in India (APAC Region).

Role and Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal advisor for India business operations.
• Provide legal support across APAC jurisdictions in coordination with regional counsel.
• Advise on regulatory frameworks, including telecommunications, data protection, and employment laws.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements such as SaaS, partner, services, NDAs, and real estate contracts.
• Localize global contract templates to comply with Indian and international laws.
• Support complex cross-border transactions and outsourcing arrangements.
• Manage corporate governance activities, including board and shareholder matters.
• Guide on compliance frameworks, internal policies, and ethical conduct.
• Act as a point of contact for data privacy matters and policy implementation.
• Handle disputes and pre-litigation matters with external counsel.
• Provide risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Support global legal projects, including restructuring and transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with EMEA legal teams and contribute to global legal processes.

Eligibility

• LL.B. or LL.M. from a premier law school.
• Minimum 7+ years of in-house legal experience, preferably in a global technology firm.
• Expertise in contract lifecycle management, data privacy (GDPR/DPDP), and IPR clauses.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
