Details of the Job/Internship
Microsoft is hiring a Senior Corporate Counsel – Law Enforcement & National Security with 4+ years of experience to join their office in Gurgaon.
Role and Responsibilities
- Establish working relationships with Indian law enforcement agencies to ensure legal requests comply with applicable laws and Microsoft’s global obligations.
- Conduct outreach sessions to promote Microsoft’s privacy and data protection principles.
- Provide legal and policy advice on privacy, data access, and related matters in coordination with the global LENS team.
- Engage with operational leadership on India Lawful Access performance, risk, and policy changes.
- Collaborate with Microsoft’s Government Affairs, National Security, and Commercial Legal teams.
- Develop and implement strategies to align India Lawful Access goals with organisational objectives.
Eligibility
- Juris Doctor or equivalent international law degree.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
- Active license to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction.
- Preferred: 12+ years of experience, prior exposure to Indian law enforcement, IT Act, SSMI rules, privacy and surveillance laws, public speaking, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Familiarity with technology sector and Microsoft products.
