Details of the Job/Internship
Wipro is hiring an In-House Legal Counsel to support its strategic partner ecosystem by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of partner engagements and advising business teams on related legal aspects. The role involves regular interaction with key business stakeholders, requiring strong business acumen, advanced contract drafting skills, and effective negotiation capabilities to safeguard the company’s interests.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate strategic partner and commercial agreements.
- Advise business teams on legal aspects relating to the partner ecosystem.
- Communicate regularly with senior business stakeholders.
- Protect Wipro’s legal and commercial interests while supporting business objectives.
- Provide guidance on software licensing, compliance, data protection, and cross-border legal issues.
Eligibility
- 10+ years of relevant legal experience.
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating software licence agreements and IT services contracts, including cloud and hosting agreements.
- Experience with IT infrastructure contracts, IP licences, online advertisement and marketing agreements, ISDA contracts, construction contracts, property-related documents, treasury contracts, structured finance documents, hardware purchase and leasing agreements, staffing contracts, IT development agreements, collaboration agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and bank guarantees.
- Understanding of software licence compliance issues, including open-source software.
- Experience with SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS-related copyright issues is preferred.
- Knowledge of legal and compliance issues, including data protection matters in cross-border transactions.
- Exposure to contract disputes, dispute resolution, and/or litigation is preferred.
- Ability to work with and advise senior leadership.
