Details of the Job/Internship

FICO is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel with 10+ years of experience to join its legal team in Bengaluru.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and translate various commercial agreements, including sales, service, subcontract, software, procurement, and NDAs.
• Review key contract terms (IP indemnity, limitation of liability, warranties, licenses) and revise them per FICO policies.
• Support business and sales teams on RFPs and contracting matters.
• Coordinate contract reviews across departments (product, finance, services).
• Assist in updating templates, interpreting contracts, and legal translations.
• Flag legal risks and seek necessary approvals.
• Protect the company from unnecessary liabilities, damages, and penalties.

Eligibility

• Juris Doctor degree; licensed and in good standing in any jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience.
• Strong background in software licensing, preferably in a corporate legal setting.
• In-depth understanding of U.S. software IP laws and practices.
• Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage risks and navigate complex transactional issues.
