Details of the Job/Internship

Mondelēz International is hiring a Category Head Legal with experience of 12+ years to join their office in Mumbai.

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the legal team responsible for the entire Category portfolio in India.
• Develop and implement legal strategies to proactively mitigate risk and support sales growth.
• Spearhead the drafting and negotiation of critical supply chain, distribution, and technology agreements.
• Deliver authoritative advice on food law (FSSAI), labeling, nutrition claims, and consumer protection.
• Review marketing campaigns and digital content to ensure compliance with Indian advertising and IP laws.
• Act as a strategic partner to R&D and brand teams for new product development and go-to-market strategies.
• Manage pre-litigation disputes, consumer complaints, and regulatory inquiries alongside external counsel.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders to monitor and adapt to multi-jurisdictional regulatory changes.

Eligibility

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 12 years of post-qualification experience in a leading law firm or in-house department.
• Significant experience in the FMCG/CPG, food, or retail sector in India.
• Proven experience in leading and mentoring a legal team or function.
• Deep knowledge of Indian food law (FSSAI), labeling, and advertising standards.
• Strong understanding of route-to-market legal considerations and distribution frameworks in India.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and interpersonal skills to influence senior stakeholders.
• Preferred: Additional qualifications (CA/CS/MBA) and experience in e-commerce or competition law.
