Details of the Job/Internship
Alphastream.ai is hiring a Senior Data & Legal Analyst with 3+ years of experience in credit documentation or legal analysis. The role involves analysing private credit agreements, extracting and validating data, providing legal guidance, optimizing processes, and supporting technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency and investment decision-making..
Role and Responsibilities
- Private Credit Agreement Expertise:
- Analyse and interpret complex private credit agreements, amendments, and intercreditor arrangements.
- Extract and validate key terms including facility structure, pricing, financial covenants, security packages, payment priorities, and governing law.
- Oversight & Quality Assurance:
- Review and validate data extracted by junior analysts.
- Provide legal interpretation on covenants, defaults, representations & warranties, Payment-in-Kind clauses, etc.
- Track covenants, interest schedules, amortization, prepayment terms, and other credit metrics.
- Conduct analytical reviews to identify risks, anomalies, or operational inefficiencies.
- Stay updated on legal developments and market trends affecting credit documentation.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a subject matter expert for Legal, Product, and Operations teams.
- Deliver actionable summaries and insights from complex documentation to support strategic decisions.
- Process Optimization & Automation:
- Streamline data extraction and documentation workflows.
- Support creation and expansion of legal data taxonomies and standardized templates.
- Collaborate with technology teams to enhance document parsing tools and scalable solutions.
- Mentorship & Leadership:
- Train and mentor junior team members on documentation standards, legal interpretation, and data extraction.
- Lead documentation reviews for high-value or high-risk transactions.
Eligibility
- Law degree or equivalent legal/financial qualification.
- 3+ years of experience in credit documentation, legal analysis, or private credit.
- Deep understanding of private credit structures, credit agreements, debt covenants, term sheets, and financial instruments.
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in document management systems and data tools.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including legal, investment, and technology.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
