Details of the Job/Internship

TechInvention is hiring a Senior Executive – IP and Legal with 2–3 years of experience to join their office in Navi Mumbai.

Role and Responsibilities

• Utilize patent databases and platforms (Orbit, SciFinder, NCBI Sequence) for technical research.
• Assist in the drafting, filing, and prosecution of patents specifically in Life Sciences and Biotech.
• Perform patentability searches, landscape analysis, and Freedom to Operate (FTO) assessments.
• Draft and review specialized legal documents, including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs).
• Coordinate directly with R&D scientists to understand vaccine and diagnostic life cycles.
• Liaise with external patent attorneys and consultants to ensure timely IP filings and compliance.
• Maintain comprehensive IP records and monitor critical timelines for the biotech portfolio.
• Support the legal and IP requirements for various consulting and advisory engagements.

Eligibility

• Education: Postgraduate degree in Biotechnology (Mandatory); a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) is an added advantage.
• Experience: 2–3 years of relevant experience in a law firm or a biotechnology/pharmaceutical company.
• Technical Skills: Hands-on familiarity with vaccines, diagnostics, and biotherapeutics.
• Research Skills: Proficiency in Orbit, SciFinder, and NCBI Sequence searches.
• Competencies: Strong analytical, documentation, and interpersonal skills to work across cross-functional teams.
