Details of the Job/Internship
Bajaj General Insurance is hiring a Senior Executive – Corporate Legal to join their office in Kumardungi. The role involves contract drafting and management, regulatory compliance with IRDAI guidelines, advisory on insurance and allied laws, litigation management, and handling corporate, HR, property, and criminal legal matters while supporting business functions and internal stakeholders.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, vet, finalise, and manage commercial contracts, agreements, MOUs, and standard documents for vendors, service providers, agents, distributors, and business partners.
- Track and implement IRDAI regulations and guidelines on a day-to-day basis and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Advise on insurance laws and central and state laws, including property, labour, and criminal laws.
- Draft and review policy terms and conditions, policy schedules, product documents, proposals, renewals, and related documentation.
- Handle IRDAI complaint matters and correspondence in accordance with applicable legal provisions.
- Draft, review, and advise on agreements and MOUs with banks and financial institutions.
- Prepare and finalise lease, leave and licence agreements, and documents related to premises, including condominium matters.
- Advise on legal compliances across all business functions of the organisation.
- Review and guide teams on contracts and documents relating to vendors, outsourcing agents, and distributors.
- Assist in structuring legal contracts and documents for business generation while ensuring compliance with laws and internal policies.
- Maintain MIS for contracts, agreements, and stamp papers.
- Assist the Head – Corporate Legal in updating manuals and standard documents.
- Conduct regular reviews of ongoing litigation and recommend course corrections.
- Analyse litigation matters, evaluate court orders, and decide on compliance or appeals, including drafting writs, replies, applications, and coordinating with advocates.
- Handle HR and labour law matters, including disciplinary issues, policy drafting, and employee-related cases.
- Manage claims-related cases against the company and its employees.
- Handle arbitration, civil, and criminal cases involving the company, including drafting FIRs and responding to police and legal notices.
- Maintain and update MIS for all corporate legal work, ensure adherence to turnaround timelines, and submit reports to management.
- Prepare, update, and maintain standard operating procedures on a continuous basis.
