Details of the Job/Internship
Brigade Group is hiring for the position of Senior General Manager - Legal with 20+ years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Legal Strategy & Compliance
- Develop and implement legal frameworks, policies, and risk mitigation strategies aligned with business goals.
- Ensure compliance with RERA and local/state real estate regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and governance reviews across projects.
2. Real Estate Transactions & Due Diligence
- Lead due diligence for land acquisitions, property investments, and township projects.
- Verify land titles and manage documentation for large-scale developments.
- Negotiate and structure agreements including JDAs, JVAs, leasehold, and purchase agreements.
3. Litigation & Dispute Resolution
- Handle disputes related to land, contracts, and property matters.
- Represent the company before civil courts, NCLT, consumer forums, RERA, appellate tribunals, High Court, and Supreme Court.
- Collaborate with external counsel to manage complex litigation and arbitration.
4. Contract Management & Documentation
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including:
- JDAs, JVAs, Sale & Conveyance Deeds
- Vendor, Contractor & Construction Agreements
- Loan, Mortgage, Escrow & Licensing Agreements
- End-customer documentation, Marketing & Franchise Agreements
- Facilities Management & Service Level Agreements
- Establish robust review mechanisms to minimize business risks.
5. Risk & Stakeholder Management
- Advise senior management and the Board on legal risks and compliance issues.
- Partner with Business Development, Liaison, Design, Project, and CRM teams for project execution.
- Engage with government agencies, regulators, and industry bodies.
- Manage senior counsel and external law firms.
6. Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing legal team.
- Establish KPIs, training programs, and best practices.
- Promote a culture of legal excellence, compliance, and proactive risk management.
Eligibility
- Education: LL.B required; LL.M preferred.
- Experience: 20+ years in legal practice, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role within real estate.
- Proven expertise in real estate law, land acquisition, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong track record in managing large residential projects.
Salary/Stipend
