Details of the Job/Internship
NPCI International Payments Limited is hiring a Senior Lead – Legal to handle end-to-end legal matters of the NPCI Group in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex, high-risk, and strategic agreements with domestic and foreign entities.
- Standardisation of product, service, and technology agreements.
- Advising management and internal teams on legal, regulatory, commercial, and operational risks.
- Supporting structuring of transactions, products, and services from a legal and compliance perspective.
- Handling intellectual property-related work.
- Managing and coordinating with external counsels, including legal opinions and due diligence.
- Preparing board-level notes and responding to legal queries raised by the board.
- Ensuring global and local legal compliance and monitoring regulatory developments.
- Supporting compliance and product teams by interpreting regulatory guidelines.
- Implementing and maintaining a legal documentation management system.
- Participating in industry and product working group meetings where legal input is required.
- Mitigating legal and compliance risks and implementing internal risk compliance frameworks.
- Updating internal stakeholders on changes in applicable laws and regulations.
- Preparing committee papers and internal legal reports for senior management.
