Details of the Job/Internship

IndiaLaw LLP is hiring a Senior Associate – Arbitration with 4–7 years of post-qualification experience to join its Mumbai office. The role involves handling complex domestic and international arbitration matters, court proceedings related to arbitration, and advising clients on dispute resolution strategy. The position requires strong drafting skills, advocacy support, and client-handling capabilities.

Role and Responsibilities

• Handling domestic and international commercial arbitrations, including ad hoc and institutional arbitrations.
• Drafting pleadings, statements of claim and defence, rejoinders, written submissions, and applications.
• Appearing before arbitral tribunals, High Courts, and other judicial forums for arbitration-related proceedings, including Sections 9, 11, 34, and 37 matters.
• Advising clients on arbitration strategy, risk assessment, and dispute management.
• Conducting legal research on arbitration law, procedure, and precedents.
• Assisting Partners in hearings, trials, and client conferences.
• Coordinating with counsel, arbitrators, experts, and opposing teams.
• Managing junior associates and interns, including reviewing work and mentoring.
• Ensuring timely compliance with procedural timelines and client deliverables.

Eligibility

• LL.B. degree from a recognized university in India.
• 4–7 years of post-qualification experience in arbitration and dispute resolution.
• Strong experience in commercial arbitration and arbitration-related litigation.
• Prior experience at a reputed law firm or chambers preferred.
• Sound knowledge of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, CPC, and relevant commercial laws.
