Details of the Job/Internship

Unimarks Legal Solutions is hiring a Senior Legal Associate – Intellectual Property (IPR) for a full-time role in Chennai. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in IP law, handling trademarks, copyrights, and related matters.

Role and Responsibilities

• Assist in IP filings and registrations, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
• Conduct legal research on intellectual property laws, regulations, and precedents.
• Draft and review IP-related agreements, such as licensing, assignments, confidentiality agreements, and technology transfers.
• Manage IP enforcement actions, including cease and desist letters, oppositions, and infringement proceedings.
• Support litigation efforts related to intellectual property disputes.
• Conduct IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and business transactions.
• Advise clients or internal stakeholders on IP protection strategies and compliance.
• Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and external legal counsel on IP matters.
• Monitor and track intellectual property portfolios and renewal deadlines.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) and licensed to practice law in [jurisdiction].
• 3-5 years of experience in intellectual property law, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.
• Strong understanding of trademark, copyright, patent, and trade secret laws.
• Experience with IP litigation, enforcement, and licensing is a plus.
• Excellent legal drafting and analytical skills.
• Strong research and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Experience with intellectual property management systems.
• Knowledge of international IP laws and treaties.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies.
