Qure.ai is hiring for the position of Senior Legal Associate to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a wide range of complex commercial and non-commercial agreements, including software licensing agreements, NDAs, distribution agreements, research and collaboration agreements, service agreements, letters of intent, vendor and employment contracts across multiple jurisdictions.
- Legal Advisory: Provide legal support and guidance on general corporate matters, policy formulation, and day-to-day legal issues. Advise senior management on international commercial law, corporate governance, dispute resolution, and IP-related concerns.
- ESG Compliance: Collaborate with the ESG Manager to develop, implement, and maintain the ESG framework. Assist in defining the ESG roadmap and ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable ESG standards and regulations.
- External Coordination: Liaise with external legal counsel and regulatory authorities on behalf of the company. Effectively communicate legal opinions, risks, and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Intellectual Property Management: Oversee and manage the organization’s IP portfolio, including trademark and copyright registrations, enforcement strategies, and IP risk management.
- Data Protection & Privacy: Partner with the Data Protection Officer to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations. Draft, review, and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and respond to internal and external data-related queries.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on laws and regulations related to IP, data protection, open-source, corporate compliance, and ensure the company’s adherence to statutory requirements.
- Employment & HR Advisory: Support HR in employment law matters, draft and update HR policies, and ensure legal compliance related to labor laws and internal governance practices.
- Legal Research & Documentation: Conduct in-depth legal research and provide actionable insights. Develop internal workflows, trackers, and legal playbooks to streamline team operations.
- Secretarial Compliance: Manage overall secretarial and legal compliance for the company and its subsidiaries, ensuring timely filings and adherence to governance norms.
- General Support: Assist with administrative and cross-functional tasks, including preparing legal summaries, reports, and contributing to ongoing risk and compliance assessments.
Eligibility
- Proven experience in contract drafting and negotiation across jurisdictions.
- Strong grasp of corporate law, IP law, international commercial law, data protection, and employment law.
- Demonstrated ability to manage ESG frameworks and related compliance obligations.
- Experience managing external counsel and liaising with regulatory authorities.
- Familiarity with IP portfolio management, including open-source compliance.
- High proficiency in legal research, drafting, and policy development.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
