Treelife is hiring for the position of Senior Legal Associate with 4-8 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage PE/VC transactions for startups and investors—from drafting and negotiating term sheets and definitive agreements to handling closings.
• Provide strategic legal guidance on funding, investments, disclosures, and corporate governance.
• Advise on complex business structures and investment models involving marquee founders and top-tier investors.
• Oversee and coordinate multiple legal projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality execution.
• Manage internal legal and compliance functions in collaboration with company founders and key decision-makers.
• Deliver comprehensive legal advice across a wide range of corporate and commercial issues, including:
  • Private Equity and Venture Capital
  • Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Corporate Restructuring
  • Foreign Investments
  • Investment Exits
• Company Law, Data Protection & Commercial Contracts

Eligibility

• Law Degree (BLS/LLB/LLM) from a recognized university.
• 4–8 years of relevant experience in a top-tier law firm or boutique legal practice.
• Proven track record of handling PE/VC deals, M&A, and corporate restructurings.
• Strong ability to manage transactions end-to-end with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across business and legal teams.
• Prior experience working with startups or tech-driven companies is a plus, but not mandatory.
