Details of the Job/Internship
Treelife is hiring a Senior Legal Associate – PE/VC Transactions with experience of 4–8 years to join their office in BKC, Mumbai. The role involves handling funding-related work, corporate governance, investment transactions, and advising on complex structures while working closely with founders, investors, and internal teams.
Role and Responsibilities
- Handle funding-related work, disclosure, reporting, corporate governance, and investments.
- Advise on complex structures across varied business models for startups and investors.
- Manage the legal team and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
- Lead investment transactions from drafting and vetting to negotiation of transaction documents.
- Manage compliance and legal functions while working directly with founders.
- Advise on matters including PE/VC, company law, data protection, commercial contracts, foreign investments, acquisitions, and investment exits.
Eligibility
- BLS (LLB/LLM) or BA (LLB/LLM) from a recognised university.
- 4–8 years of experience in a law firm, boutique, or similar organisation.
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions.
- Experience in PE/VC transactions.
- Experience in corporate restructuring and reorganisation.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in providing legal opinions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in leading assignments.
- Prior startup experience is preferred but not mandatory.
