Details of the Job/Internship
WSP in India is hiring a Legal Counsel with 5+ years of experience to support its legal division by reviewing and negotiating construction industry contracts and delivering operational and legal assistance across global projects.
Role and Responsibilities
- Review a full range of contracts and related documents.
- Provide clear, concise feedback on contractual risks and conduct follow-up calls with colleagues when required.
- Proactively manage and lead negotiations.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with internal teams, clients, and their legal counsel.
- Stay updated on legislative and regulatory developments relevant to the organisation’s operations.
Eligibility
- Qualified lawyer with 5+ years of legal experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal team specialising in construction law.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Strong communication skills and high ethical standards.
- Ability to balance commercial and operational needs with legal risk.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with enthusiasm and initiative.
- Exposure to United Kingdom clients is desirable.
