Bewakoof.com is hiring a Senior - Legal Counsel in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India for qualified Candidates with 7+ years of experience to work at their office.
Role and Responsibilities
Retail Leasing and Transactions:
- Manage all legal aspects of retail store leasing, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating MoUs, LOIs, Lease Deeds, ATL/LLA, maintenance contracts, and fit-out agreements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws in retail leasing and store operations.
In-House Legal Advisory
- Serve as the in-house legal advisor for the organization, providing guidance on various legal and compliance matters.
- Draft and negotiate agreements, including vendor contracts, service agreements, and employment-related documents.
- Provide support for dispute resolution and risk mitigation strategies.
Compliance Management
- Ensure alignment with statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the organization, including labor laws, taxation, licensing, and operational compliance.
- Develop and implement internal compliance policies to ensure adherence to industry standards and organizational goals.
Stakeholder Coordination And Liaison
- Act as a liaison between the company and regulatory authorities, ensuring timely submissions and responses.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including HR, operations, and finance, to ensure seamless compliance and legal support.
- Work closely with the parent company's legal team to ensure alignment and consistency across legal practices.
Documentation And Record-Keeping
- Oversee the maintenance of all legal documents, including contracts, licenses, and compliance certificates.
- Ensure timely renewal and registration of agreements, permits, and statutory filings.
Proactive Problem-Solving
- Anticipate legal risks and provide innovative, business-oriented solutions to address them.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, contributing to strategic decisions with legal insights.
Eligibility
Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in law (LLB) from a recognized institution; LLM is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in legal roles, with exposure to compliance management and corporate legal matters.
- Experience in the fashion or retail industry is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
Skills
- Expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, and review.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, corporate laws, and labor laws.
- Familiarity with retail leasing and real estate laws is a significant advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Effective communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage complex legal matters independently.
