Details of the Job/Internship

Avaloq is hiring for the position of Senior Legal Counsel with 5 years of experience to join their office in Pune.

Role and Responsibilities

Legal Advisory:

• Provide comprehensive legal support across business functions, ensuring risk mitigation and legal compliance.

Employment Law:

• Advise HR and leadership on employment matters such as hiring, performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Corporate Governance:
• Support corporate secretarial responsibilities, including board meeting documentation, statutory filings, and resolution management.

Contract Management:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including:
• Software licensing and SaaS agreements
• Cloud service contracts
• Vendor and service provider agreements
• NDAs, RFPs, and tenders

Compliance:

• Monitor legal and regulatory developments, ensuring business practices align with internal policies and external legal obligations.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including HR, Sales, IT, and Finance to support business goals while maintaining legal integrity.

Eligibility

• Education:
• Law degree from a recognized university.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience, ideally a mix of top-tier law firm and in-house roles.
• Strong preference for candidates with exposure to the software or banking industry, and familiarity with technology contracting and SaaS agreements.
• Skills:
• Solid grounding in commercial and contract law
• Ability to handle complex negotiations
• Understanding of APAC regulatory environments is a plus
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities
