Details of the Job/Internship

BYD Indonesia is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel with experience of 3 years to join their office in the Jakarta Metropolitan Area.

Role and Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with Indonesian laws and regulations related to the automotive industry, including foreign investment, importation, consumer protection, and data protection.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise on their potential impact on business operations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including supplier, dealership, and partnership agreements.
• Provide corporate legal support, including preparing governance documents and regulatory filings.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks, offering practical solutions to minimize liabilities.
• Handle legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and government inquiries as needed.
• Conduct thorough legal research to support business operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align legal strategies with business objectives and deliver compliance training.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (S.H.); a PERADI license or Data Protection Officer Certification is a plus.
• At least have of 3 years of experience in a reputable law firm or the automotive industry
• In-depth knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks in Indonesia, especially in the automotive sector.
• Proven expertise in data protection compliance and regulatory matters.
• Strong grasp of Indonesian legal concepts, including civil, criminal, and contract law.
• Exceptional legal drafting, research, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English; proficiency in Chinese is advantageous.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
