Details of the Job/Internship

DeltaX is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Candidates must have 4+ years of experience.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including SaaS agreements, partnership agreements, licensing, and vendor contracts.
• Provide legal advice on data privacy, intellectual property, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with product development, marketing, and operations.
• Monitor and interpret evolving laws and regulations impacting the technology sector.
• Develop and implement internal policies, compliance programs, and best practices.
• Collaborate with external counsel on complex legal matters when necessary.
• Educate internal stakeholders on legal and compliance matters relevant to their roles.
• Support fundraising, M&A, and corporate governance initiatives as the company scales.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent from a recognized university in India. A Master’s degree (LLM) is a plus.
• Admission to the Bar Council of India and eligibility to practice law in India.
• 4+ years of experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department, preferably within the tech industry.
• Strong expertise in contract negotiation, intellectual property, data privacy laws (e.g., IT Act, GDPR, DPDP Act), and corporate law.
• Experience with technology transactions, venture capital, and/or M&A is a plus.
• Familiarity with Indian labor laws, taxation laws, and regulatory compliance for startups and tech companies.
• Ability to balance legal risks with business objectives and provide practical solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
